The Plantronics CA12CD is a product that gives Dispatchers a cord free, hands free dispatching experience. With the CA12CD you are free to move about your 911 center because you don't have cords that tether you to your radio console. If you have a favorite Plantronics headset top, it will plug directly into the quick disconnect on the wireless remote unit. Otherwise, any Plantronics H series headset top will also plug right in. In terms of battery usage, the Plantronics CA12CD battery provides 8 hours of talk time with a spare that stows in its own charging compartment. So when it's time to change shifts all that needs to be done is to easily swap out the battery and you're refreshed and ready for the next shift. Recharge time for this battery is 3 hours for a full 100% charge and 1 hour for 90%. As for security, the Plantronics CA12CD features 64 bit digital encryption for secure and private conversations. The base connects via a 2 prong plug (PJ-7) and has a 10 foot coil cord giving you the ability to place the base where convenient.

Great Wireless Base/Amp
Posted by C.Dexter on 16th May 2015
The CA12CD Wireless base works great for our communications center. Having used both wired and different variations of wireless amps, this base is far superior. The battery life is decent. Our amps get used at our lead position 24x7 and our other 3 positions at least 12 hours per day if not 24hrs. After constant/heavy use over time the wires will sometimes begin to short out (the reason I rate 4 out of 5) however Merritt is great about repairing these quickly.
